Beach Wrestling: Tijs vs Sam | GRPL

Match Intro

Beach Wrestling semifinal pressure hits the sand in Breukelen, the Netherlands, as Sam and Tijs fight for a place in the final of DojoLink’s 8-man tournament. Sam enters in red shorts with the bigger confirmed frame, while Tijs steps in wearing blue shorts, creating a cross-final where speed, balance and pin defense become just as important as raw takedown power. This tournament brings together 8 fighters from different martial arts disciplines, divided into Group A and Group B before moving into the cross-finals, placement matches and final. Every match lasts 5 minutes. A 3-second pin scores 1 point, and the fighter with the most points after 5 minutes wins. In a semifinal, that ruleset makes every exchange feel heavier: one takedown can open the door, but only controlled pressure can turn it into a point. For Sam, the challenge is to use size and pressure without getting caught in unstable scrambles on the sand. For Tijs, the path is about movement, timing and refusing to stay flat long enough for the 3-second pin count. Beach Wrestling rewards clean entries, fast recovery and calm decision-making under pressure, especially when a final spot is on the line. What matters most i
